Timing System Fundraiser

Postby The Shock Doc on Tue Nov 03, 2009 10:17 am

At the banquet, we will be selling 50/50 tickets to help fund the timing system.

I would like some input from everyone.

Would $5/ticket be better than $10/ticket? Personally, I like the chance at winning a bigger $$ pot.

Knowing that $5/of your ticket directly benefits the timing sytem, would the $10 shy you away from buying a ticket?

The timing system benefits EVERYONE. Knowing your split times will help you identify problems you may have. It will help you find a consistancy gremlin. We are at a distinct disadvantage to Maple Grove, Cecil, US13, etc, where they have the info on their runs. They can shut off at 1000' and know what they will run at the quarter, where WE have to run the quarter out, and show our hand at the brackets. With the computer programs out there now, if you know your competitors mph or et, it can tell you how far ahead/behind you need to be at the mph stripe. Good info to have. Everyone else has it. We can have it, too!

If Paypal works for you, the account name is shockdocracing@yahoo.com (This is not a link to paypal. Log in to paypal, and type in my account name. Then continue the transaction.

I'll be at the banquet, too. Please make checks out to Jeff Parker. I also take good old hard cash.

We are now sitting at $3,550.00 in cash($2,250) and commitments($1,300). We only gained $100 since last month, so we really need to push!

CONNECTIONS NEEDED!!

If anyone can get killer prices/donations on (10/2 with a ground), it would help immensely!

We need (2) 450' lengths and (1) 350' length

(12/2 would suffice)

Re: Timing System Fundraiser

I had a friend who is an Estimator for one of the Utica Electrical Contractors call around for wire pricing today:

10/2 with ground direct burial is $0.58 per foot ...today....... and 12/2 with ground is $0.36 per foot and these are cut to length prices.

I can get it for around $0.51 and $0.30 respectively at another distributor but you have to pay the freight so it would probably end up the same.

Also when pricing wire.... you have to make sure that they will cut it to your length in the price quoted........ the lower prices listed they will cut the 10/2 to length but the 12/2 is in 1000 ft reels.

Copper is a commodity and fluctuates in price so what the price is today may change in a week or so up or down.

Hope this helps.

I Promise I'll quit bugging you guys and wasting your time, as soon as we raise another grand! We're closing in!!

I'll have 50/50 tickets at the banquet. $10/each.
Thought about doing a split for the pay side to 25%, 15%, 10%, but since we're all the "All In" type gang, its gonna stay 50/50. Ought to make a nice prize to the lucky winner!

Update:
We are still working on getting the cable donated. Looking good!

Project will be getting underway soon.

Before snow flies, we'll be doing our best to get sonotubes in the ground at 60,330,594,660,934,1000, 1254 and 1320.

Anyone have leads on a surveyor? Sonotube source(16 pieces at 48")? I dont want to burden Howard Roberts , as hes in business to MAKE money. I suggest using him when you can! Hes going to be getting us a great deal on the 120v wiring!

My list of volunteers is MIA. Theres been quite a few guys that said they would like to help. If you would kindly resend me your name and phone /email, it would be appreciated!

If you arent going to the banquet, you can paypal me the money before 3:PM, and I will write your names on the ticket for the drawings!

Jeff
