For those of you who missed the meeting on the 27th - here is a summary of what we discussed:
Banquet: Place to be decided very soon. Same time as previous years - Sat. after Thanksgiving. We hope to have more details by the meeting on the 14th.
Track Manager position: Currently vacant, and will not be filled for the rest of this season. It is thought that the current staffing at the track will be adequate for now.
300' and 1000' lights: We all know how great it would be to have them. We all know that the track has lots of other expensive improvements to make. A racer-sponsored, dedicated fund was started to help pay for rewiring the track to accomodate these lights. We are shooting for $2500, which is half of the ROUGH ESTIMATE for the project. It is expected that the track will come up with the other half (based only on the ROUGH ESTIMATE) - {that's not written in stone, but a show of enthusiasm by the racers would certainly be seen as a motivating factor for such a decision}. Jeff Parker is the man to see about the money. Thanks Mr. Parker.
Brackets: Tent will be in place, on backtop this year - Thanks ESTA. Shirts will be lt. grey with the ESTA logo and "2009 Qualifier" on the front. We approved $400 for food and $400 for decorations and noisemakers. ESTA will provide water and sodas. Drivers and crew members will pay $10 each to partake of the wonderful menu that Gary has planned for the weekend. Hotel rooms available - see posts on the discussion board.
